We want our visitors to be comfortable and safe and will help in any way we can. Accessing the cottage

Dol-y-bont is spread along a single road without pavements. There is a steep hill at both ends of the village.

The cottage shares a driveway with the main house.

Car parking is off road and is adjacent to the cottage.

There is flat access between the car standing and the cottage entrances.

The main entrance to the cottage is by a door (75cm wide) which has a small step up (20cm high), or by a sliding patio door also with a small step up (87cm wide & 20cm high).

There are two lights outside the cottage which are operated from the entrance hallway.

A shallow stream borders the property on two sides. There is a low wall on the cottage side and a 4’ drop on the stream side.
Inside the cottage

The cottage is all on one level. Internal doors are 80cm wide.

There is no bath, the walk-in shower is 85cm x 80cm and has a low step (6cm high) into it.

Plug sockets are all at least 45cm off the floor and light switches are at least 100cm off the floor.

Reading lamps are provided by the bed and in the lounge.

Worktops are at a standard height and there is an ‘eye-level’ oven.

There is full gas central heating fully controllable by guests.
Accessing the area

The nearest public bus route is at the end of the village up a steep slope. Buses go to Ynyslas via Borth and to Aberystwyth centre via Bow Street.

The local beaches have varying degrees of access. Ynyslas sand dunes has parking on the sand.
General access information

Rubbish bins are behind the cottage and there is a low step up to them. The bins can be moved to the front if required.

Some mobile phone networks have poor reception at the property.

We cannot accommodate pets, however assistance dogs are welcome as long as they have their own bedding and are kept off furniture and bedding.

All waste (sinks, shower, toilet) goes into our septic tank. To maintain its correct operation it is important that guests only use eco-friendly cleaning fluids and dishwasher tablets. Your personal shampoo and soaps are fine for use, and we provide bags for sanitary products – please do not flush these down the toilet.
